About Our Chapel
St. George's history
St. George's North Alabama Oratory is a home church or chapel for Anglo-Catholic worship meditation, and prayer.

Trained at Nashotah House Seminary in Wisconsin, we are an unaffiliated community of worship in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, located in north Alabama.

We have no organizational structure or corporate formation, much as the early churches existed.

We worship using the 1979 Book of Common Prayer and the RSV translation of the Holy Scriptures of the Old Testament, the New Testament and the Apocrypha. We use the Common Lectionary of the 1979 BCP and the 1982 Hymnal.
Keeping
the Faith
The work of the early church is explicated in the Book of Acts and the Epistles. We follow the guidance these books offer in our worship, meditation, and prayers.
Spiritual
Community
We are not directly aligned with any organized religious body, though we have many friends who are.

You are welcome to share fellowship with us through the writings on our blog.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you always.
