The Work of the Church in the World-Part II

This is adapted from a Podcast Script.

·         A second and very important point for Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and Elders of the Church is that their ministry and responsibilities do not end at the Church walls, their ministry and responsibilities extends out into the world where your parishioners live, work, and play

·         Your parishioners are facing serious spiritual warfare in every walk of life; in the home through all forms of internet and cellular media, at work with rules and regulations that violate the tenets of their faith, and most of the time your parishioners are fighting these battles alone because no one from the Church is standing in the breach with them!

·         Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and Elders of the Church need to be aware of the battles their parishioners are fighting in all walks of their lives and it is past time that the Church starts to stand up and stand with their parishioners in their battles.

·         Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and Elders of the Church need to start showing up with their parishioners at city council meetings, school board meetings, and library board meetings, and at entertainment venues glorifying the works of sin, lust, and pride.

·         Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and Elders of the Church need to go into work places that are fostering an environment that is antithetical to the religious views of their parishioners

·         The level of spiritual warfare is so pervasive and so intense for your flock that in this day and age I will contend that if Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and Elders of the Church have not spent at least one night in jail for supporting their parishioners, then they may not be doing their jobs that well.

·         I know that must sound rather bizarre and extreme, but let’s recall what Roman Catholic Cardinal Francis George said about our cultural situation back in 2010;

·         "I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square. His successor will pick up the shards of a ruined society and slowly help rebuild civilization, as the church has done so often in human history."

·         Those who know their history, just the history of the 20th century, can grasp how prophetic the Cardinal’s words may be
